The American Association of Professional Ringside Physicians,

(the “AAPRP”) is honored to publish the first State/Tribal/International

pre-fight medical requirement booklet.

This comprehensive manual includes the most up to date information

and resources pertaining to the required medical tests needed to

compete in boxing and the mixed martial arts. In addition, included in

this booklet, is the contact information for each jurisdiction across

North America.

The AAPRP wishes to thank every commissioner, executive director

and administrator who responded to this year's request for these Pre-fight

medical requirements.  It is only with your assistance that projects like

these may succeed.  Ultimately, we hope that this report will enable boxers,

promoters, managers and commissions an opportunity to review these

requirements prior to competing in your jurisdiction.  Additionally, it will

enable commissioners a mechanism to compare their current requirements

to other jurisdictions as well as to the ABC/AAPRP minimum medical

recommended guidelines.  The AAPRP will continue to promote

standardization and will work with each commission to assist in improving

safety through education and communication.

We look forward to another successful year in professional boxing and mixed

martial arts and hope that this booklet will facilitate improvement in the sport.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Schwartz

Chairman – AAPRP
